Musician and rapper Paul Costict has passed away suddenly at the age of 57.
The ‘My Baby Daddy’ hitmaker, who was part of the 90s rap collective B-Rock and The Bizz, died at his Norfolk, Virginia, home on Saturday, October 21.
One of his family members has since confirmed the news to TMZ but failed to provide a cause of death.
According to the insider, they spoke to Costict on Wednesday that week and the man appeared to be in high spirits despite being sick.
The rapper was best known for his 1997 hit My Baby Daddy which ranked #10 on the Billboard music chart at the time.
He also served as the B-Rock and The Bizz’s road manager and active member along with Baron ‘B-Rock’ Agee, Leevirt Agee, and Thaddeus ‘T-Bird’ Maye.
While some of the group’s hits from the 90s may have since been forgotten, ‘My Baby Daddy’ remains a staple in the hip-hop music scene.
Previously, in 2022, Rihanna paid tribute to the group by wearing a ‘dat’s just my baby daddy’ themed T-shirt while strolling with rapper A$AP Rocky during her second pregnancy.
Following the news of Costict’s passing, tributes to the musician began pouring in.
“RIP legend never forgetting you and da homies. B-Rock and da Bizz forever,” someone wrote.
“He was never very famous but he’s still one of my favorite rappers of all time, Rest in peace brother,” another added.
A third said: “Loved his music in the 90s, a true icon of the rap scene.”
