Rebel Wilson has spoken out about her decision to name her baby girl Royce as she revealed her firstborn’s full name.
Days earlier, the Australian actress and comedian took her fans by surprise as she announced she had become a mother after welcoming her daughter via surrogacy.
Now, Rebel is clearly already forging strong bonds with little Royce whom she branded as “gorgeous” and “perfect” in her interview with People.
“My love for her is just overflowing. She is gorgeous and perfect. I felt like, ‘Wow, this is such a precious miracle,’” the Pitch Perfect star said.
Wilson also revealed that her baby’s full name is Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson as she explained the reason behind her decision.
“I wanted an original name starting with the letter R and so eventually landed on that one,” she said.
Wilson further said that “Lillian and Elizabeth are both family names carried by women in my family who I admire. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late Queen.”
The interview comes just days after Rebel took the world by surprise as she announced she had become a mother and thanked her surrogate for the “best gift” ever.
“Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate,” she announced in an Instagram post.
“I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making.
“But particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.”
Concluding her post, the actress suggested she was proud to join the “moms club” and “give little Roycie all the love imaginable.”
