Marriage is never an easy endeavor to take on and one couple is proving just that.
Speaking to an online platform, one wife says her husband is not happy with her for something she finds to be ridiculous.
According to her, taking your husband’s name after marriage is sexist. And she is not a fan of the idea since day one. She communicated that to him from the start but it appears that he is not happy with her decision.
He feels that it’s special when a woman changes her last name to adopt the one that belongs to her husband.
As silly as it may sound to some individuals in this world, this young woman added how she loves her name and would not change it. But she also wants her husband to know that they have been married for six months and she would do anything to be by his side.
“It is just a name, for goodness sake. How should I make him realize this? He means the world to me and I need to make him realize this”- the woman added.
In further justification for the act, the woman says she has worked incredibly hard to be known by her own identity, and not her man’s.
She never adored the concept of changing names to begin with. And hoped others would somehow understand. And now she wants advice on how to make people realize that she always means well.
Many netizens held the opinion that changing names should not be the only basis or step taken by a woman to prove to a man that she loves him.
Some bigger actions and decisions can do just that. Her name is her identity and it solely belongs to her. Therefore, she has every right to accept or reject anything about it. Hence, most people also advised her to reassure her husband that she adores him but cannot embark on this ordeal, no matter what.
