A mother has opted to punish her young daughter for fat shaming her own best friend.
Sources from local media outlets were quick to speak about how the mom refused to take her daughter on vacation that she had been dreaming of for so long. And that’s because she needed to teach her a lesson that she would remember for the rest of her life.
The mother revealed how teaching children manners and good morals does not come easily but if you do it right, you can really be setting them up for success at a young age.
Therefore, when she and the family got ready for a dream vacation to an island, it just did not go down well at all.
Speaking on the online platform Reddit, the mother explained how her daughter has struggled with being chubby and losing weight herself since a young age.
But seeing her behave this way toward her friend who was clearly struggling with her own weight problems had her in shock. Hence, she was in no mood of tolerating her rude behavior.
“I asked her once politely that you should invite your friend. It’s going to be a treat for her too and both of you can have a great time. But the response I got from her blew my mind”- the mother explained.
Not only did the child say no, but she also justified the behavior by fat-shaming her friend by saying she was too chubby to be in her travel photos.
The mother says that her father was the one who spoiled her rotten but this sort of behavior had gone unnoticed for far too long. And now, it was her turn of teaching the child a lesson to remember for years.
“We can’t discriminate against people on the basis of what they look like. We need to respect each and everyone, regardless of what they appear like on the outside”- the mother continued. And as you can imagine, she received plenty of praise for that move.
