King Charles has reportedly replaced Prince Harry as the Captain General of the Royal Marines.
According to reports from local media outlets, this is the same title that was stripped from the likes of Harry by the Queen in the year 2020 after the Duke of Sussex opted to give up his royal duties.
This role is called out to be one of the most honorary military roles out there. It was reportedly stripped from him after the Megxit incident and it’s something that is believed to have made Harry really sad, sources revealed.
It was in 2020 that Harry and Megan showed the whole world and the Palace by talking about their move to leave the country and give up their royal titles to lead a life of normalcy in the US.
There was plenty of speculation surrounding who exactly would now be getting this role. And now it’s confirmed that it’s not Princess Anne but actually the King himself.
The news of today’s titles being given to Charles comes at a time when Prince Harry’s shocking new Memoir called ‘Spare’ was unveiled yesterday. The publisher of the book has promised that there will be a lot of drama involved and that has kept the palace on the tip of its toes.
Harry was appointed as Captain General by the Queen in December 2017, right before he succeeded Prince Philip.
After receiving the honor, his Majesty mentioned how it was an absolute honor for him to get this role and title and he would be following in the footsteps of a number of other members of the family. They have all had a deep sense of admiration for him in this regard.
For those who may not be aware, the Royal Marines have a very distinguished role and unparalleled history, when it comes to both the land and sea. So it’s a huge honor and a lot of courage, self-discipline, and determination that gets people over here after overcoming extreme environments.
