An NFL reporter shared a heartbreaking announcement as he revealed his young daughter had passed away after a short battle with leukemia.
New England Patriots beat reporter Doug Kyed, who works for the Boston Herald, has posted a tragic update on Instagram in which he admitted he and his wife Jen were left “completely lost and heartbroken” after the death of their 2-year-old daughter Hallie.
According to the journalist, his baby girl died “peacefully in her sleep” nine months after she was diagnosed with leukemia.
“We’re completely lost and heartbroken without Hallie. Our lives will never be the same,” Doug shared along with photos of his daughter.
“Hallie was a special kid, and she made a positive impact on so many people she met. We were lucky to be her parents, and Olivia was fortunate to have the best baby sister.”
Kyed went on to explain that Hallie was suffering from an aggressive form of leukemia that was out of control by the time she started her treatment.
Doug further revealed that Hallie was treated at Boston Children’s Hospital where her doctors did everything in their power to help her beat the illness.
The tear-jerking statement concluded: “The world is a worse place without Hallie in it. If you can take anything from Hallie today, it’s to know exactly what you want and to be persistent in asking for it, whether it’s going on a walk, ride in the car or wearing one particular Disney dress (usually Cruella).
“I’ll miss rubbing her hair and kissing her head and telling her I love her the most.”
Our thoughts are with Doug and Jen during this challenging time.
