Rihanna has broken major news as she opened up about her recent business decision to step down as the CEO of her company.
The 35-year-old billionaire, who stunned her fans as she showed off her growing baby bump at the Cannes Lions Festival earlier this week, founded the lingerie brand Savage X Fenty in 2018.
Since the company’s foundation, the Umbrella hitmaker also held the position of CEO until now that she’s made the call to hand the reigns over to Hillary Super.
The businesswoman has a history of leadership positions at top brands such as Gap, Old Navy, American Eagle, and Guess. Prior to signing with Savage X Fenty, Super also held the position of CEO at Anthropologie.
“It’s been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years,” Rihanna told Vogue as she shared the announcement.
“This is just the beginning for us, and we’re going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer.
“I’m so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO – she is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level.”
The self-made billionaire further revealed that she will remain connected to her business by taking over the role of executive chairman.
Speaking out about the big decision was also Super who said she was “thrilled” to join the popular brand and continue its commitment to promoting fearlessness and inclusivity.
“I’m thrilled to join the Savage X Fenty family. The brand is a major powerhouse in the lingerie and apparel industry, and its unwavering commitment to celebrating inclusivity and fearlessness is inspiring,” she said.
According to the reports, Super is expected to begin her journey as the Savage X Fenty CEO on June 26.
