Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have been making a splash all over New York City, and rumors say she is pregnant with her first child.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty, 33, is a Barbadian singer, actress, fashion designer, and businesswoman. She gained recognition with the release of her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl Like Me (2006), both of which were influenced by Caribbean music and peaked within the top ten of the US Billboard 200 chart.
Aside from music, Rihanna is known for her involvement in humanitarian causes, entrepreneurial ventures, and the fashion industry. She is the founder of the nonprofit organization Clara Lionel Foundation, cosmetics brand Fenty Beauty, and fashion house Fenty under LVMH; she is the first black woman to head a luxury brand for LVMH.
She was the 11th person ever to be named a National Hero in Barbados, but tabloids and some social media were far more fixated on whether or not she could be expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP because of the orange dress she decided to wear.
The pair attended the Basquiat exhibit at Christie’s and in the new photos, they appear to be exiting Casa Cipriani, a luxe hotel in downtown NYC, however, it’s unclear where they were headed for dinner.
In the images, the pop superstar can be seen bundled up in a beige puffer jacket as her beau trails behind her, she carried a Gucci purse, and her man wearing a blue and purple hoodie under a multi-colored jacket.
She and the rapper looked happy as they smiled for the paparazzi. But Rihanna shut down rumors she’s pregnant with A$AP when she responded to a curious fan earlier this month.
On Elle Magazine, a fan named “Jen” DM’d Rihanna asking: “Can I come to the baby shower sis!? True or not your babies are going to be beautiful. Sorry, everyone’s up in your uterus right now.”
Rihanna responded saying: “Ha! Stop! You ain’t come to the first 10 baby showers! Y’all breed me every year dammit lol.”
The singer was recently named a national hero of Barbados during their ceremony celebrating their first-ever presidential nomination, but fans and even verified Twitter accounts were quick to gossip that she was pregnant based on photos of her at the event.
In 2019, she had to quiet the chatter as well, telling Vogue in an interview: “I don’t think about stuff like that. But I don’t know…God’s plan. I look forward to all of the pregnancy rumors after this interview.”
Following the Met Gala earlier this year, many fans also claimed Rihanna was hiding a baby bump due to a similar oversized outfit, and when the star appeared in Barbados on November 29 it seemed it was all starting up again.
It was reported that the singer told the employees in Barbados not to smoke around her. A source claimed that “staff was told at her house, no drinking or smoking is allowed. Rihanna is pregnant, and wants to bring her baby in a healthy environment.”
Meanwhile, last year, the star admitted she wants three to four babies in the next 10 years. The singer had been open about her hope to someday be a mother, she said in a 2020 British Vogue interview, that 10 years from now, she hoped to have multiple children.
She says: “Ten Year? I’ll be 42! I’ll be ancient. I’ll have kids three or four of ‘em.”
She also said that she’d do it even if she hadn’t found the right partner. She says: “Hell, yeah, I’d have kids on my own. I feel like society makes me want to feel like, “Oh, you got it wrong…” They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives.”
“But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child, that’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love,” she added.
Rihanna and A$AP have known each other for almost a decade, but their relationship only got romantic in 2020. The relationship was revealed by the rapper through an interview with GQ on May 19, 2021.
