Tragic reports have confirmed a massive fire inside a restaurant that killed up to 22 people and injured three more.
The horrifying incident took place in the northeastern part of China, as stated by Beijing’s leading broadcasting outlet.
The blaze broke out on Tuesday at 12:25 local time at a restaurant in the Baita District, Liaoyang City, which is present nearly 360 miles northeast of Beijing.
President Xi Jinping mentioned more details about how the blaze had resulted in a huge number of casualties and that the lessons learned from this were very serious.
He instructed to make swift efforts to treat the injured, properly handle the aftermath for the deceased, and provide support to their families.
She mentioned how they needed to swiftly determine the cause of the fire and pursue accountability as per the law.
Footage shared online showed fierce flames engulfing a massive two-storey restaurant, and thick black smoke billowed into the sky.
Other authenticated videos were published online that showed paramedics wheeling in one victim on a stretcher into an ambulance, and several firefighters battled those flames with hoses. The country is now carrying out a full-blown investigation into the deadly incident.
