The verdict for the Johnny Depp defamation trial is done and dusted but there are now more reports surfacing about who showed the celeb the most support after his misery was over.
According to local media reports, it was actor Robert Downey Jr. who was a part of the first few celebs that made it a point to call the celeb to congratulate him when the verdict was revealed and went in his favor.
Johnny Depp was awarded the winner of the trial while his former partner Amber Heard had been ordered to pay her ex-husband $8 million in defamation charges.
Robert Downey Jr. revealed how he was more than ecstatic and beyond happy for his friend and colleague and just couldn’t control his excitement. He picked up the phone and rang the Pirates of the Caribbean star, and said: “John, thank God it’s over!”
Those words were short but sweet and they were a reaffirmation of the duo’s friendship and a great many struggles the Downey Jr. had seen Johnny Depp overcome during his career.
The news was revealed by Johnny Depp’s other close friend whose name is Josh Richman.
“He faced time and just was so happy and grateful that his good friend was able to see this day. A day that so many well-wishers of the actor had been waiting for”- he continued.
As recently reported by the New York Post, Depp’s friend made this news public during a recent charity live stream event that was held to collect funds for the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
Many were curious about who face-timed the celeb after the verdict was out and that’s when Richman said Downey Jr. did because he was his pal of 35 years and he couldn’t stop himself from doing it.
“Robert loves Johnny to bits and pieces and his win was like a win for Downey Jr too”- he concluded.
