Robin Williams’ children paid a touching tribute to their father on what would be his 72nd birthday.
Zak and Zelda Williams both took to Instagram to pay their respects to the beloved actor and comedian who died from suicide back in 2014.
In a heartbreaking message, 33-year-old Zelda referred to her dad as ‘Poppo’ while insisting her father would be out there on a strike with the Writers Guild of America if he were still alive.
“Happy birthday to Poppo, who definitely would’ve been out there fighting the good fight for art and artists today and always,” she wrote along with a photo showing protesters holding up signs that read: “SGA WGA ON STRIKE.”
Meanwhile, the late entertainer’s son Zak, 40, remembered Robin’s “mischievous, loving grin” and his “joyous and curious” nature.
“Happy 72nd Dad! Was remembering how much I used to love that look you’d give,” he wrote.
“That look with a mischievous, loving grin that your friends and loved ones knew so well. Joyous and curious and wondrous. Miss you and love you forever.”
Zak is the son of Robin Williams and Valerie Velardie, the actor’s first wife. Williams and Velardie stayed married from 1978 to 1988.
In 1989, Robin married Marsha Garces Williams and the couple went on to welcome children Zelda and Cody before their divorce in 2010.
In 2011, Williams tied the knot with graphic designer Susan Schneider whom he stayed married to until his death in 2014.
