Russian troops have successfully managed to seize complete control of Chernobyl as Ukraine issues a grave warning regarding how radiation levels are on the rise.
At the moment, local media reports stated how the exact condition of the plant was unknown but there are growing fears about how a radiation leak has managed to take place recently.
The news came in on Thursday and that’s when Russian forces confirmed how they were in complete control of the nuclear plant.
But recently, great concern has arisen around the world, and especially in Europe after Ukraine’s State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate mentioned on Friday how high gamma radiation levels were on the rise and being detected in what is deemed to be an exclusion zone in Chernobyl.
On the other hand, Russian officials have gone about denying this particular rumor, adding how the on-site radiation levels were currently within normal range.
If indeed there has been a radiation leak, experts claim that it would potentially result in a major radiation leak, resulting in a nuclear fallout around all of Europe, which was last witnessed during the year 1986 and that’s when the mega reactor exploded.
Russia’s officials have gone on to deny those reports, time and time again, adding more confusion to the alarming situation.
Ukraine says that the levels of radiation are definitely higher but they also failed to give relevant details about the sudden increase too.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Defence Ministry and its spokesperson have gone on to talk about how Russia’s airborne troops were currently in the midst of protecting the giant plant so as to prevent any form of possible provocations.
In the same way, he has also insisted that those radiation levels in those areas have remained consistent.
One Atomic Entergy Agency in Vienna stated how Ukraine confirmed that no casualties or destruction had taken place at that industrial site.
