Russia has suffered a huge setback today as it entered the second day of war against Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces have gone on to claim on Friday that they have destroyed a part of the Russian airfield that’s present in the south of the country, in a massive airstrike.
According to local media reports, Kyiv’s forces managed to shoot down at least seven different helicopters from Russia and even went as far as destroying more than 80 tanks while blitzing down nearly 10 fighter jets.
But that is not all. The news is considered historic because Ukraine’s military forces are so much more inferior to the Russian counterpart, not to mention their air defense system that dates back towards the Soviet era.
Both NATO, as well as the US, have also made it very clear that there will be no troops being sent out to assist Ukraine during this desperate crisis event. And that means Ukraine was left to fight alone during this time.
“We are alone, and there is no one out there to help us out”- were the statements mentioned by Ukrainian President Zelensky this morning.
But keeping all of that aside, the fact that Russia suffered nearly 1000 casualties is clear proof about how Ukraine is still not giving up, anytime soon, and will not lay down its arms despite the massive threat they face.
The news comes at a time when the defense ministry in Kyiv was informed about the great Russian loss comprising of nearly 2800 troops, 80 tanks, 10 airplanes, 516 armored vehicles, and at least seven helicopters being damaged.
On the other hand, Ukrainian forces destroyed the Russian Millerovo airfield and that meant the destruction of Moscow’s Su-30SM fighter jets as well.
