The millionaire and renowned restauranteur that goes by the name Salt Bae has sparked a major controversy after he recently shared a reunion video with his mother on social media.
Nusret Gokce put up a sweet gesture on his Instagram account where the star can be seen embracing his very modest-looking mother.
But people were quick to blast the star for wearing sunglasses during the visit, while others questioned him in regards to why his mother was living so modestly, despite the fact that he was a millionaire.
In the same way, others started to criticize Salt Bae for visiting his mother in Turkey after a span of two years, despite having all the money and fame in the world.
The Turkish-born 38-year-old became famous a few years back when he put up his first video that had an unusual twist. He was seen seasoning a steak in a very unusual manner, something that not too many people had ever come across in the culinary world.
After the video became an instant sensation, that bizarre seasoning gesture became his signature trademark.
Today, he is said to be worth 44 million pounds and many still can’t get over his unique claim to fame and celeb status.
With more than 15 restaurants under his belt from all around the globe, Salt Bae has managed to attract millions of celebs including David Beckham, P. Diddy, Conor McGregor, and Leonardo DiCaprio. And they’re all renowned to be huge fans of his brand, coming in and out on a frequent basis.
But keeping that all aside, many couldn’t get over the fact that despite his eateries being so expensive and his living standards skyrocketing, why was his mother living in such a simple condition as the star shared a glimpse of his parents’ home.
The video came captioned with “I saw my mother after two whole years.”
