A Delta passenger plane was seen having a close call with a US Air Force jet near the Ronald Reagan National Airport in what sources claim could be the second disaster to arise at the same location in the past two months.
The flight has 137 people on board and just departed for Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. This is when it got a sudden emergency alert of a nearby aircraft.
Alarms went off inside the cockpit of the passenger flight just minutes after it took off due to how close the T-38 jet came towards the plane.
The close call arose just south of the airport and close to the same spot where the American Airlines plane collided with an army helicopter in January and killed nearly 67 people on board.
As per the tracking data, the Air Force jet flew past the Delta Plane in excess of 350 miles per hour.
The FAA mentioned how the military plane was in the same area alongside three more for a flyover at the Arlington National Cemetery.
The Air Traffic Control chatter heard the Delta Pilot speak about how he was shocked to see an actual aircraft located about 500 feet below them. And the air traffic controller responded with a confirmation that this news was indeed true.
