Serena Williams has welcomed her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian.
The 41-year-old tennis legend earlier this month announced that she was expecting a baby girl, her second daughter, with her husband whom she met in Rome back in 2015.
Now, the athlete gave birth to her second child and revealed that her name is Adira River Ohanian, a Hebrew name that means powerful, noble, and strong.
“Welcome my beautiful angel,” Serena wrote as she shared her first clip of the baby on Tuesday.
Adira has joined the family five years after Serena and Alexis welcomed their first child, now-five-year-old Olympia, following two years of dating.
In the clip shared by Serena, the tennis star could be seen cradling her newborn baby in her arms while giving a kiss to her husband and embracing daughter Olympia.
Issuing a statement on social media was also proud girl dad Alexis who wrote:
“Welcome, Adira River Ohanian. I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama.
“Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you’ve now given me another incomparable gift — you’re the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter. I’ll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.
“Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.”
Serena and Alexis met at a hotel in Rome back in 2015. In December 2016, after dating for a year and a half, the couple got engaged, and another year later, they expanded their family by welcoming their first daughter.
Congratulations to the couple on the happy news!
