A waiter on TikTok was seen dividing the internet after dragging a restaurant client for not being able to leave a huge tip.
The man shared a bill on social media from Applebee’s Neighborhood and Grill & Bar. This was located in Staten Island and it showed that the patron ended up leaving a small tip of just 9%.
The person’s meal came to just $74 and the fact that the cafe suggested an 18% tip of $12 or a 20% of $13 didn’t seem too reasonable.
On that note, he just left what he felt was enough and that was a $6.55 alongside a note that he wrote by hand. He explained how it’s great to inform others about tip but it’s the holiday season and things are rough at the moment. A sad face was added to the note as well.
The bill that was shared online featured the name of the server working at the leading restaurant and it was Dana G. It’s still not clear how he got a receipt of that bill or if he happens to be working there. Some felt he posted it as a bad joke. What do you think?
If someone cannot afford a minimal tip, should they be dragged down like this in public or not?
