Gender row boxer Imane Khelif is setting out to guarantee a top spot at the upcoming Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old star from Algeria is keen on really making it big and won’t let any kind of hurdles or changes in rules come in her way.
Khelif shared how nothing has stopped her from working hard and becoming a pro. This includes a desire to return to the ring in Los Angeles in search of even more Olympic glory.
The Algerian puncher shared with the Spanish media outlet March that she’s returning to 2028, and it’s a major comeback. She wants to compete in the heavier weight class after changes in the rules. This means she’s unlikely to be a great fit for the welterweight division.
The welterweight class in Los Angeles has been confirmed as being between 60 to 65 kg, which is lighter than the 66kg that Khelif came in with at last year’s Paris Olympics.
‘I’m focused on attaining a second Olympic gold in 2028 as well as preparing for the transition to fight as a professional’- she added.
