As the nation grips from the horrifying incident revolving around Trump’s assassination attempt, more details are shedding light on what went down that day.
According to reports from local media outlets, a local cop is believed to have confronted the young sniper Thomas Crooks before he made his way to shoot the former US President.
A local cop says after seeing the gunman, he confronted him and then retreated moments before the 20-year-old managed to aim for the former head of state.
The officer spoke about how he climbed to the top of the unmarked rooftop where the assassin happened to be present and started to aim at Trump.
He failed by all means to prevent him from carrying out his motive which was to kill Trump.
The cop says the gunman fired a round of bullets and as per reports from AP, the officer came head to head with Crooks before he pulled the trigger.
He then pointed the rifle at the local cop and that forced the cop to run back down the ladder Crooks was seen firing at least five shots in the air at the venue in Pennsylvania. This has raised many questions in people’s minds as to why more was not done to tackle the gunman.
