Hollywood actress Angeline Jolie is continuing on her mission as an UN-based global ambassador after the celeb was recently pictured visiting the sick refugees of Ukraine at a children’s hospital in Italy.
Clearly, the megastar from Hollywood was pictured putting away her glam life and instead was attempting to carry on with her humanitarian work in the Italian capital city of Rome.
Angelina Jolie was reportedly raised as a true Catholic who dedicates a majority of her time and efforts to the Refugee Agency of the United Nations and this recent project was proof of just that.
The exact location of the refugee hospital was identified as the Bambino Gesu which is a pediatric-based medical center, present out of the precincts of the country’s famous Vatican City.
A close source told the actress how these refugees included all of those who had reportedly fled their war-torn country when the Russian President opted to launch a full-blown war in Ukraine, during the last week of February.
On average, both Unicef, as well as the UN claim as many as 2 million young refugees, have fled their home nation, ever since the Russian invasion began.
Alarming statistics showed how the majority of the population is internally displaced, making matters worse for young children.
The renowned actress was also greeted by the doctors, nurses, and other members of the hospital staff who briefed her about the different treatments such as medications being used.
Some of the young refugees admitted were seen to be very sick as the actress tried her best to spread a little cheer around and give them her best wishes and words of hope and encouragement.
It’s moving images like these that clearly go to show how the impact of war greatly affects innocent civilians who have done nothing wrong but yet had to bear the consequences of their leaders’ brutal actions.
