The update comes after Sinbad’s family revealed that the 66-year-old suffered a stroke after not one but two blood clots formed in his body.

“After surgery, Sinbad was talking and moving with some weakness, but the prognosis was very promising. The next day, however, another blood clot formed, half the size of the first,” they explained on their new page.

“He underwent the same surgery again successfully but it took a little more from him than the first surgery. He was transferred to Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where the doctors indicated that his brain had begun to swell.”

During a procedure to “relieve the pressure and reduce swelling,” a bleed was discovered and the comedian had to be placed into a coma.

Despite being left with just a 30% chance of survival, Sinbad pulled through and set off on a long journey to recovery.
