One single mom has reportedly received a staggering amount in donations from GoFundMe after it was revealed how she might face jail time.

Single mother of five, Melissa Henderson made headlines after her neighbors called the cops on her for leaving her teenage daughter in charge of her 4-year-old brother.

The teen was busy with her online classes and so she failed to notice how her brother managed to sneak out of the house. The four-year-old ended up at the neighbor’s home who called the cops on the single mom for being so careless about her children.

On that note, cops rushed to the scene and handcuffed the single mom for carrying out criminal negligence as they felt a 14-year-old girl was not a suitable choice to babysit a four-year-old boy.

It was immensely difficult for a mother to see her own kids watch her sit in the police car. Moreover, the daunting thought of facing jail time is a constant worry on this mother’s mind.

But the mom who hails from Blairsville in Georgia says that she was left with no choice as she had bills to pay and five hungry children to feed.

The troublesome times of the pandemic were not easy on this single mother and that’s when she opted to put her daughter in charge of looking after the younger lot.

After her story went viral, nearly one month back, her ex-husband did manage to bail her out. However, she is still in danger of going to jail for the offense, sources explained.

On the other hand, it has been revealed how Melissa’s lawyer is actually the founder of ParentsUSA whose mission in life is to assist all of those parents out that are wrongfully charged. He is said to have created a GoFundMe for the entire family and it has managed to gain support from across the country.
