Tragic reports have confirmed the identities of those on board the doomed American Airlines jet that crashed into the river after colliding with a military helicopter.
The incident took place at 9 pm local time in Washington DC and no survivors were reported so far.
Several skaters and coaches with their loved ones were said to be on board the flight. They were reportedly returning back home from the National Development Camp for top young skaters.
The camp was said to be held in combination with the national championships which ran in Wichita from January 20 to 26. Some athletes are said to be staying till January 28 for the advanced training program.
More details shared how loved ones are in shock and stunned at the tragedy. They find it unbelievable and are now asking authorities for responses on the situation and why it arose.
‘We will continue to monitor this very carefully and will release more data as it becomes available’- a statement was shared at a recent press conference.
Team USA had reporters that qualified for the elite division staying one more extra day at the event after which several boarded the doomed flight.
