BREAKING: Smash Mouth Lead Singer Steve Harwell Is In Hospice Care


Musician Steve Harwell is in hospice care with just days to live.

The 56-year-old Smash Mouth frontman is reportedly close to his end after battling medical issues for several years.

The news was confirmed to TMZ by the rocker’s manager who revealed that Steve is surrounded by his loved ones in his final stage of life.

“Steve is resting at home and being cared for by his fiancé and hospice care,” the rep told DailyMail.com.

The saddening turn of events comes after fears for the singer were voiced back in 2021 when he was seen cursing, making threats, and slurring his speech amid his battle with alcohol addiction.

“My only additional comment is that we would hope that people would respect Steve and his family’s privacy during this difficult time,” the representative added.

Harwell is best known for his time with the American rock band Smash Mouth which he had helped found back in 1994.

Throughout the years, the band gained popularity and fame by releasing a number of catchy hits including the likes of All Star, Why Can’t We Be Friends, and Walkin’ On The Sun.

The band’s fame further skyrocketed in 2001 after their song All Star was featured in the animated film Shrek.

After the band’s success, in 2013, the lead singer encountered a major setback as he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a heart disease. Later on, the diagnosis of Wernicke encephalopathy, a neurological condition, was added to the list.
