The son of a British billionaire who was onboard the missing Titanic submersible has spoken out after he attended a Blink-182 concert amid the search for the vessel.
The sub named Titan was supposed to give the people onboard an unforgettable experience to see and explore the Titanic wreckage.
But only an hour ad 45 minutes after diving into the water, the vessel stopped sending alerts back to the surface.
The five people onboard the missing submersible are Hamish Harding, CEO and founder of OceanGate Stockton Rush, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, and French submersible pilot Paul-Henri Nargeolet.
As the search for the submersible continues, Harding’s stepson Brian Szasz, 37, has revealed that he attended a Blink-182 concert.
He reportedly took to Facebook and shared a now-deleted photo of him smiling while wearing a Blink-182 shirt.
“It might be distasteful being here but my family would want me to be at the [B]link-182 show as it’s my favorite band and music helps me in difficult times!” he wrote.
He then took to Instagram and defended his decision to attend the concert while rescue teams are looking for his father.
“Yes I went to @blink-182 last night. What am I supposed to do sit at home and watch the news? Not sorry this band has helped me through hard times since 1998,” he said.
On Twitter, he thanked Blink-182 band members Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Tom DeLonge.
“My stepdad Hamish is on this submarine lost at sea. I’m devastated but coming to the San Diego show tonight so you guys can give me hope and cheer me up,” he wrote.
According to reports, an estimated 10,000 square miles have been searched but there are still no signs of Titan.
