The Queen of Spain was given a very cold welcome when she decided to visit flood victims in Valencia.
Queen Letizia was seen shedding tears as she met those affected by the devastating flash foods. At first, she met with rescue squad members from Portugal and appreciated them for their efforts.
But it did not take long for things to go from bad to worse. After arriving, locals started to chant slogans against her government and even pelted the royal with mud.
This left her in tears as she could be seen hugging workers standing nearby.
Over 200 people passed away from the devastating natural disaster and more are feared dead as hopes of finding more survivors continue to diminish with each passing day.
The town of Chiva was slammed with a year’s worth of rainfall in just one day. Torrents filled with mud water wrecked towns and infrastructure in the country’s worst natural disaster to arrive in decades.
Letizia was seen crying while hearing stories of locals and many tried to give her support with hugs while consoling her so she could carry on walking and meeting others affected by the calamity.
The news comes after she and her husband King Felipe were heckled by angry protestors and splashed with mud after their arrival.
