The Queen appeared to be in a very cheerful mood as she hosted a grand reception event to kickstart her platinum jubilee celebrations which are scheduled for tomorrow.
The 95-year-old British Monarch could be seen sparkling and smiling away as she lay a knife in a cake to commemorate the grand event which marks 70 years of her presence on the throne.
The pre-jubilee even was held at the renowned Sandringham House which is situated in Norfolk.
And that’s where she was making several quips regarding the cake as well as a few jokes here and there with all the guests that surrounded her presence.
Among the guests were attendees who hailed from local community groups as well as charities.
Tomorrow is being labeled as a landmark event in Britain’s history as the Queen has managed to reach a milestone of 70 years of leadership.
Moreover, she is the first monarch to reach this auspicious milestone where so many members of the local community also joined her to mark this celebration.
In the event, the Queen could be seen being presented with a specially made cake from a local bakery along with a giant knife. And that’s when she was reportedly requested to cut out the first slice.
After plunging the blade in, she made so many of her guests chuckle as she said: “I think I might just put the knife in it” and this was closely followed by: “I think someone else can do the rest.”
In addition to that, the Queen spoke about how the direction of the emblem on the cake was positioned in the wrong manner for her as it was hard to be noticed by the press for pictures.
“They can see it, I don’t mind, I don’t matter”- she said.
