At least six people were killed after a helicopter plunged into New York’s Hudson River.
As shared by media outlet AP, the chopper was carrying at least two children, the New York Police Department confirmed, including a young boy who was pulled out from the frigid waters.

As of right now, his condition is unknown. Meanwhile, the terrifying crash was reported to have taken place at 3:15 pm on Thursday, closer to the New Jersey side of the river, just off the tip of Lower Manhattan.
Witnesses shared how the chopper split in half before it went down near Pier 40. It was also heard from a long distance, making a strange thudding sound.

As of right now, it’s not clear if the chopper was a tourist aircraft or owned by a private company. For now, it’s too early to determine what may have caused the crash, authorities shared.
A dramatic video shared showed how the helicopter started to sink into the water, the moment it hit the river. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after the news broke out. As of right now, rescue and recovery operations are continuing. The chopper was said to be a N216MH-a Bell 206L-4, as per Flight Radar experts.
