Actress Natalie Portman is detailing more about how her experience in the Hollywood industry didn’t quite go as expected when she enrolled as a child star.

The diva sat down for a recent interview where she revealed it all, including how she was traumatized in her childhood after one incident that arose. For that reason, she’s warning kids to stay away from the industry until they attain an age of maturity and can differentiate right from wrong.

The 42-year-old Oscar winner confirmed how important it is for parents to realize that they need to do more in terms of protecting their children. And while her experience in the industry has been great so far, she’s had to face some tough hurdles as a child.

“I would never encourage any child to enter this industry. Not a lot of people talk about what I am going to talk about so please listen. It’s a word of advice, coming heart to heart”- the star confirmed.

The Leon star clarified how it’s important to understand that she’s not telling people to stop acting. She loves the field and feels it’s a great place to be. But starting off young might not be in everyone’s interest, explained the star who started her own acting journey at the age of 12.

Referring to herself as someone who was naive, she further explained that she was blessed when an incident almost took place but thankfully, her parents were right there by her side to protect her.

“I was blessed with protective parents who were constantly watching over me. But not everyone has that opportunity in life. And I wish to make it clear that not everyone in the industry is looking out for your best interest”- she added.

Portman detailed further how there were too many bad stories regarding child actors. Therefore, she wishes her parents would stop them or look after them.

And by the looks of it, the star will certainly not be sending her own children into the acting industry repeating how children should play and stay in school instead of starting off a professional career at such an early age.
