Terrifying and tragic reports have confirmed the passing away of beloved actor Andre Braugher who passed away from a short illness on Monday.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his rep recently who confirmed to media outlet Page Six how fans and loved ones are just beyond shaken and upset at the news.

The star was reportedly 61 years old at the time of his death and was famous in the world of television. He received plenty of accolades for his stellar performance in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Homicide.

Moreover, his role as a leading detective in Homicide: Life on the Street is one that many would recall him for. The star went on further to work in his role as Captain Raymond Hold in Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Throughout his eight seasons on the show, he earned a staggering two Critics Choice Awards and nearly four Emmy Award nominations as well.

Speaking to Variety Magazine in the year 2020, he spoke about how all of this is very new for him and he had never done any of it. But he vowed to give his best performance and that’s exactly what happened in the end.

In 2006, he managed to get his second award for outstanding performance in the lead actor role for playing Nick Atwater in the film Thief. If that was not enough, the star similarly got two Golden Globe nods for his role in Gideon’s Cross in 2001 as well as for Thief in the year 2007.
