The leading star of General Hospital, Tyler Christopher has passed away at the age of 50.
According to reports by local media outlets, the terrifyingly tragic news was confirmed by his costar.
Maurice Benard mentioned on Tuesday how the actor was found dead in his apartment in San Diego after suffering from an episode of cardiac arrest.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher. The actor passed away during the morning hours and it’s just so sad how the events have unfolded”- his costar mentioned in his post on social media.

Benard mentioned that his former colleague was a true advocate for better mental health and substance abuse who underwent treatment in the public eye and wished to raise more awareness on the subject through his own experiences.
He also struggled with alcohol and bipolar depression. And that just makes it so hard to see him in this position, another person added.
“We are just so sad and heartbroken by this incident. We want you to pray for his children as well pray for his dad who is finding it so hard to accept this news”- he further revealed.
Benard mentioned how his late colleague had been through so much but made more effort to bring smiles across people’s faces. And that is what makes this all so shocking and hard to accept. “My heart goes out to his family and friends”- his colleague concluded in the end.
