The latest star from Hollywood to condemn Will Smith’s shocking actions during this year’s Academy Awards is comedian Katherine Ryan.
Ryan has lashed out at Smith for behaving in the most ridiculous manner against Chris Rock, adding how the star should have stayed at home if he felt that he couldn’t take a joke.
Will Smith left the world stunned after he chose to storm on stage and slap Chris Rock for joking about his wife’s shaved head.
Moments after he returned back to his seat, he could be heard from miles away threatening Rock by stating: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****g mouth!”
Clearly, this was a joke gone wrong but the majority of viewers felt like it was more or less related to Will Smith letting his emotions get the best of him.
Keeping that very incident in mind, Katherine Ryan spoke about how Will Smith’s behavior should have been condemned across the board because he deserved that.
As a comedian herself, she felt the need to emphasize how it’s just not okay to do whatever your heart desires on national television, especially when nothing was done to generate that sort of harsh behavior.
She spoke in detail with her social media followers and later opted to also share screenshots on her Instagram stories.
One user was bold enough to tell her that Will Smith’s actions couldn’t be condoned. Yes, he shouldn’t have resorted to violence as that’s never the best solution to anything. However, he felt that no man should ever sit and watch anyone insult their wife for the sake of comedy.
“Chris should never have said it and Will should never have done it!”- mentioned another viewer.
But that’s when Katherine came to the rescue and said that the entire purpose of the show is for a celeb monologue and if you don’t have the guts to hear it, better to stay at home. Do you agree?
