A helicopter pilot reportedly was killed after his chopper crashed into a luxury hotel in Cairns hotel.
Sources from local media outlets were quick to confirm how the chopper that crashed was on an unauthorized flight as sources explained how the aircraft was most likely stolen.
Emergency services were seen rushing to the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton in the Far North Queensland area at about 1:50 am. This was reported on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Queensland Ambulance also confirmed reports about the helicopter crashing into the roof of the hotel as it had close to 3oo to 400 individuals who had to be evacuated on an urgent basis from the premises.
The pilot was identified as a male in his 40s but no other details have been revealed so far, including why he was flying the helicopter and how it crashed.
Meanwhile, two other individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital and were treated for smoke inhalation.
The helicopter reportedly belonged to one of Australia’s premier helicopter operators and the use was said to be unauthorized.
The Nautilus Aviation is now working alongside the cops and other state institutions to try and conclude how and why this incident arose. ‘As we continue to support this investigation fully, we refuse to make more comments on this right now’- their statement explained.
