Actors Meryl Streep and Martin Short are facing the heat after denying dating rumors.

The pair were pictured making their way out for a quick dinner and while they may have wished nobody clicked their pictures when out and about in town, that was not the case.

The stars stated how there was only platonic love in this building and tried to laugh off the matter. But that was not going to do the least bit of convincing to many others who felt they needed to admit it and stop acting like children, each time they went out.

The pair have constantly denied all rumors about having an affair or being involved in dating. The co-stars seemed to be enjoying a wonderful meal with a large group of friends at the trendy Giorgio Baldi restaurant located in Santa Monica California.

The Saturday Night Alum was not keen on answering any more speculations about being together as they opted to just smile in silence after being thrown all sorts of questions.

It was only last month during a podcast with Bill Maher that the pair made it obvious that they had nothing going on between them and were just great friends. This is even though they were seen joking and getting cozy with one another at this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

Speaking to Page Six, their other co-stars such as Jackie Hoffman were also questioned about whether or not the duo were indeed dating. And he laughed, adding how he was pretty sure that they were nothing more than good friends and how he wasn’t aware of any dating taking place.

“I’ve seen their chemistry together and it’s great. But no, it’s nothing the sort that you’d assume from a couple”- he laughed while requesting to change the topic as he’d had enough of that.
