A judge in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday opened the door for the last person to see missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki alive to return back home to America.
Joshua Riibe has been called out as the person of interest in the case as he was reportedly the last one to have spent time with her on the beach before her mysterious disappearance.
The judge has now cleared him and given him the green signal to leave the Caribbean nation as he ordered the authorities to release the Iowa-born American’s passport.
Riibe was seen dressed in a black button-down shirt and looked disheveled. He was reportedly mobbed by the press while he tried to appear in the courtroom hearing on his bid to be released to return home after being highlighted as a person of interest in the case.
Although he was never considered a suspect nor did they find any kind of evidence against him, it’s alarming how he was detained for so long and not given the green signal to return back.
His family shared how the entire community backed him and he was a man that many knew for his great character. ‘He would never even hurt a fly’- another shared.
