The world was left baffled recently when a restaurant in Pennsylvania decided to sue one of its diners for leaving a staggering tip worth $3000 for one of its employees.
According to local media outlets, a massive tip was left for a waitress, and the most remarkable finding related to the story is that the bill was just $13.
Sources claim that although the tip was huge, it turned out to be a major pain in the backside for so many people working at the eatery.
It all began when waitress Mariana Lambert couldn’t believe her eyes when she laid eyes on the tip that was left for her. Seeing thousands of dollars being added to the bill worth just $13 was nothing less than a dream for her. But slowly, things went from happy to sad when the employee requested a tip from her employer.
There was a very wild and heated exchange taking place back and forth between the restaurant and the customers located on social media when they found out what had happened.
The customer actually paid the bill with his credit card and left a tip on his card too. But weeks later, he decided to revert back the decision and remove the tip altogether. He says that it was part of a campaign on social media that he was enthusiastic about initially.
So now that the matter has been so publicized and the eatery has been given a lot of hate and shame online, they’re vowing to take the diner to court to solve the matter.
The employer at Alfredo’s wants the $3000 tip back that had been promised at the start. He feels that it’s wrong to do something like this and then revert back weeks later.
Clearly, this case is definitely a bizarre one. But the person who left it says it was part of a movement he felt like participating in. And then, a while later, he decided he didn’t wish to leave that much money and canceled the tip on his credit card.
