The new Superman actor has finally been revealed after it was confirmed that Henry Cavill would not be reprising the iconic role.
According to the new DC Studios bosses, who previously defended their decision not to cast Cavill in Superman: Legacy, Pearl and House of Cards star David Corenswet will fill in Cavill’s shoes and appear as Clark Kent in the new movie.

Corenswet was cast after dealing with the competition including Tom Brittney and Nicholas Hoult and a series of tests that the candidates had to complete in full costume and makeup.
Deadline further revealed that Dead for a Dollar star Rachel Brosnahan will join Corenswet as Lois Lane in the much-anticipated action-packed film.

According to the studio, the movie is set to be released on July 11, 2025.
The revelation comes months after new DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran came under fire for booting Cavill out of the movie despite the actor’s portrayal of Superman in 2013.
“I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman,” Cavill previously announced.
“After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and happiest of fortunes.”
The news resulted in a massive backlash with fans accusing the studio of betraying Cavill after previously implying he would be cast in the new movie.
Responding to the backlash, Gunn insisted Cavill was never fired because he was never officially cast.
“We didn’t fire Henry. Henry was never cast,” he said.
