Serbia’s athlete Lazar Dukic has reportedly passed away after taking part in a swimming event at this year’s CrossFit Games in Texas.

As per event organizers, Dukic vanished in the waters during the live streaming of the games. He competed on Marine Creek Lake near the city of Fort Worth in Texas during the hours of Thursday.

He was last witnessed about 100 meters from the end of the 800-meter swimming segment that took place in Forth Worth Texas as per Metro.

Meanwhile, a body was later recovered one hour later. The Tarrant Country medical examiner’s office is yet to list the cause of death.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported more on this event on Thursday which entailed a 3.5-mile run that was followed up by another 800-meter swim.

As per the newspaper, an estimated 10,000 individuals were in this area for the games that took place on Thursday and were reportedly set to run through all of Sunday.
