A teacher from Kentucky is said to be among the many who mourned the death of a 9-year-old child who was swept away by floodwaters while walking to a school bus stop in the past week.
Kasey Swails was one of Gabriel Andrews’ teachers at the Hearn Elementary School this year, and she shared a touching tribute to the student posted on Facebook.

‘He was the sweetest boy who would always make you smile!’- she mentioned about Gabriel, recalling how his tragic death on April 4th in Frankfort is something that she cannot encompass.
She also shared how every day he would wish her good morning as soon as he walked by her door. So many people adore him, and every kiddo in the classroom called him a bright star and a good friend.

Now, all they have is the memory of little Gabriel who was impossible not to love. The teacher mentioned how she always pours her heart out to all the kids, as if they were one of her own.
This is why it’s such a heartbreaking moment for her to realize that one of her own kids isn’t there any longer. ‘I wish I could squeeze all of these little babies so hard and tell them how much I love them and value each of them!’- she cried.
