The final battle for the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol has begun as Ukraine’s troops become surrounded by Russian forces.
According to local media reports, the situation is not looking good for Ukraine as marines prepare for death or captivity as the Russians give no mercy.
The southern port city has been surrounded by so many invading Russians for a number of days but it now appears they have managed to gain great strength, leaving the Ukrainian troops outnumbered.
The country’s 36th marine brigade mentioned via a recent Facebook post how those whose limbs were not torn off have been instructed to fight and that leaves them with two devastating outcomes- either they’re killed by the merciless Russians or fear being taken captive.
“Anyone who is capable to fight will be ordered to fight. We’ve got all types of people joining us, they include musicians, cooks, and drivers too”- the post went on to claim.
The forces also spoke about how ammunition was quickly running out and that’s probably today might be declared as the last day of battle in Mariupol.
“We did everything that was possible to defend the port for the past 47 days. We wished to retain control of the city”- the heartbreaking post continued.
Meanwhile, Russian troops spoke in detail about how the fighting in the area continued and it centered around the Azovstal iron and steelworks as well as the port.
Ukrainian marines prepare for a defeat, adding how they worked so hard to defend the country as a whole but this is the exact location where Russian troops pushed them in a backward direction.
It was an emotional moment to see how more than half of Ukraine’s troops in Mariupol are wounded but many are still hoping for a miracle to occur.
