A long and tedious search for missing Texas girl Sophie Long has finally come to an end after she was reportedly tracked down by American investigators with her fugitive father from a foreign country.
According to local media reports, Sophie Long appeared to be safe and sound in her father’s company but the exact location of her sighting is yet to be disclosed to the media, explained officials.
Sophie went missing in July of this year after her father Michael refused to give her back to her maternal aunt.
The father stated his concerns and fears regarding the safety of his daughter after shocking reports emerged regarding how the child may have been subjected to se*ual abuse by her own mother’s fiancee.
Sophie who hails from Texas appeared to be happy and very comfortable when located, as explained by authorities who were involved in the massive search hunt.
The bitter custody dispute where her own father refused to give his daughter back to her aunt turned heads after the young child went missing. Ever since then, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting a hunt for her safe return.
“We are grateful to have found Sophie in a safe state. It was many months of determined work by my team of deputies, the FBI, and the US Marshals that paid off, in the end, this morning,” revealed Collin County’s Sheriff Jim Skinner.
In addition to that, the Sheriff spoke about how Sophie’s father will now be extradited to the US, where he will reportedly have to face felony charges regarding his interference in child custody, as reported recently by the Dallas Morning News.
As of now, investigations into the case continue and authorities have stated that they will not be revealing any more details until Sophie gets back to America.
