Netflix’s hit series, ‘The Crown’ has reportedly been slammed for using the infamous Princess Diana interview as a part of its new series.
According to sources from local media outlets, the Prince of Wales was not happy and is known to have begged all to avoid the use of the interview as he felt it was something that should never be aired again.
Many critics feel the producers of the hit show must be condemned for their behavior regarding the incident. They were called out for depicting Princess Diana’s explosive Panorama interview against the dear wishes of Prince William of Wales.
The interview dates back to 1995 and it’s related to the encounter of the Princess with famed journalist Martin Bashir for its fifth series.
Meanwhile, royal insiders feel the depiction of such an event in the show has marked a new low moment for the famous series.
As it is, the Crown was severely bashed for making up plenty of series to get more views and add an element of drama to its storyline. And as you can imagine, the Palace is not happy.
One royal biographer named Hugo Vickers has blasted the show for being dishonest from day one. He added that they’re infamous for perverting facts for fame. In the same way, they try to clash incidents in a manner so that an explosive ordeal happens that never occurred in real life.
Now, focusing on the discredited BBC interview of the Princess of Wales is just shocking to many people and that’s why the Royal Members, especially Prince William, are trying to step in and urge the show’s producers to stop stooping down to that level again.
BBC had vowed to never show the interview again, in accordance with William’s wishes. But seeing The Crown go in the opposite direction has many people including Royal fans upset.
