Thousands are feared dead after a strong magnitude earthquake rocked the Southeast Asian region on Friday.
According to reports from local media outlets, this caused huge towering skyscraper buildings under construction in Thailand to collapse with many others, including a mosque in the neighboring nation of Myanmar.
Harrowing scenes were seen emerging where bodies were lined up in the rubble as rescuers scoured for more survivors from the quake that arose during the midday hours.
The epicenter was highlighted to be near Mandalay, which is Myanmar’s second biggest city.

Although the extent of the death and destruction was not clear immediately, a red alert was issued by the USGS that stated how the number of deaths estimated could be much higher than that claimed by authorities.
High casualties and serious damage were done, and the disaster is likely to spread, the federal agency report stated. Therefore, the deaths could be anywhere between 1000 to 10,000, while some speculated that it could go as high as 100,000.
At least 144 were confirmed dead in Myanmar, which is one of the world’s poorest nations. Shocking images and videos from two hard-hit cities showed the serious damage taking place.
