Tina Turner enjoyed her life to the fullest and spent her final days doing the things she loved the most, sources revealed.
The 83-year-old rocker and music icon passed away from natural causes last week after battling a series of illnesses including cancer and kidney disease in recent years.
The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll is survived by her loving husband, Erwin Bach, who is said to be looking forward to converting their weekend home in Switzerland into a museum honoring her memory.
It was now also revealed that The Best hitmaker enjoyed the final days of her life scouting her hometown of Küsnacht where she was described by the locals as a “modest” and “friendly” person.
Among other things she loved doing, Tina took yoga classes and enjoyed casual strolls through her village. She also took comfort in trying out gourmet food and shopping for designer clothes at the local stores.
When not otherwise occupied, the rocker is said to have been driving around in her Porsche in the picturesque Alpine country.
“Tina Turner would come into town to do the shopping sometimes. She had a butler but she liked to go herself, with her husband Erwin,” Benny Lang, a local butcher, told DailyMail.com.
“They particularly liked the Moreira Gourmet House. It is the best place in the area to buy smoked salmon and white truffles. That’s what they bought there.”
One neighbor of the beloved singer added: “When she first came to live here she took up yoga. She attended classes held in the park.”
Another said: “She liked to go to the park and sit by the water. It is a very peaceful place. She would say ‘Gruezi,’ how we say ‘hello’ in Swiss-German, to people walking their dogs. She was very friendly.”
Speaking of the late performer was also Arzu Oezoguz, an assistant at Laredo clothes shop, who said Tina was modest and not conceited.
“She was not conceited. I would say ‘Hello, Ms Turner’ and she would say ‘hello’ back. She liked shoes. We have some very nice shoes here, made by Italian designers,” Oezoguz revealed.
“We also sell clothes. Our dresses cost about the same. Ms Turner liked to buy these. And she bought cashmere sweaters for her husband Erwin.”
The employee added: “Other times I would see her driving around the village in her Porsche Cayenne. She was a very polite lady.”
One local also revealed that the high-end Swiss city is popular among wealthy people because locals let them live their lives in peace regardless of their fame.
