Tina Turner’s multi-million Switzerland home will reportedly be turned into a museum in honor of her legacy and her work.
The Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll passed away from “natural causes” at the age of 83 after suffering a string of illnesses including intestinal cancer and kidney disease in the last decade.
It was now revealed that the rocker’s husband, Erwin Bach, intends to turn the couple’s $71 million retreat estate in Stäfa, Switzerland, into a museum that will showcase the late performer’s memorabilia.
The weekend home lies on the banks of Lake Zurich and is located just half an hour away from Bach and Turner’s main residence where they lived for most of the time since the singer’s retirement.
The news comes as Bill Rawls Jr., the mayor of Tennessee’s Brownsville, confirmed that the local government is working to immortalize The Best hitmaker with a statue that will be installed at Heritage Park, just a walking distance from the high school Tina graduated from.
“When Tina stepped on stage, she owned it. We want this statue to represent that passion,” the mayor said.
“Tina was an inspiration to the entire world… She showed the people of Brownsville no matter where you start, you own your story about where you end up.”
Brownsville is currently also home to the Tina Turner Museum which honors the late singer’s many achievements and showcases her life story and her work.
Turner’s death was announced last week by her publicist, Bernard Doherty, who confirmed that the music legend succumbed to a long illness.
“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” he said.
