Tom Brady has hinted at a long football career as he claimed he saw “no retirement” in his future after his split from Gisele Bundchen.
It was recently revealed that the NFL quarterback had a fallout with his supermodel wife following a return to the field just weeks after he announced he was retiring.
While it is unclear what made the Tampa Bay Buccaneer resume his sports career so soon after his retirement, sources suggested the move left a big strain on his marriage, whereas Bundchen previously suggested it was her husband’s turn to make sacrifices for his family as she so often did.
Fast-forward weeks after Brady came out of retirement, the QB addressed his fans and team and dismissed speculations suggesting he would be stepping down mid-season.
“That’s really why I’m here. I’m here to announce finally… you guys pushed me to the brink,” the 45-year-old joked during a press conference.
He then expressed his devotion to his club and teammates as he promised there’s no retirement in his future.
“I love the sport, and I love the teammates, and I want to go do a great job for this team like I always have. No retirement in my future,” he declared.
The news comes after sources claimed Bundchen has hired divorce lawyers amid the couple’s bitter split.
Meanwhile, insiders claimed that the involvement of attorneys left Brady “hurting” because he wanted to solve the matter peacefully.
“She is playing offense and he is playing defense. He wants to protect himself, protect his interests, but he’s only starting to go the legal route in his defense from her,” one source said.
“He doesn’t want this to be ugly, he doesn’t want to fight. If the divorce is happening — and it seems like it is — he wants it to go as smoothly as possible.”
