Parents and teachers are lashing out at the iconic Mr Bean comedy series with calls for a tougher age rating.
According to local media reports, parents are just not happy with the show and that’s why they feel new viewers need to have a warning about what they’re going to be watching as the show is too violent and rude.
The ‘woke’ warriors feel that it’s high time that someone came forward with the truth about Rowan Atkinson’s beloved comic series that ran a marathon comprising of 15 episodes between the years 1990 to 1995.
But now, it appears to be gaining plenty of rave reviews and fame again after Netflix and Amazon Prime came up with the decision to air it upon their platforms as well.
“We demand that the guidance for viewership be altered so that viewers may be warned ahead of time that the show has plenty of rude humor moments, let alone violence, and a lot of dangerous behavior too,” mentioned a group of furious teachers and parents.
At the moment, the on-screen text has currently stated that the show contains no material that is likely to offend or harm any individual. For that reason, it comes under the category of “U” which is suitable for children that are four years old and above.
One mother who identifies herself as 41-year-old Jocelyn Crooke explained how her seven-year-old child loved the show but she has now prevented her daughter from watching it, moments after she witnessed Mr. Bean jabbing one dentist and then stripping away.
“It’s no surprise that I love Mr. Bean but I do think that there are some scenes that are just a bit too much for any young child, especially when he stabs a doctor and opts to perform his dental treatment on himself,” she explained.
