Top Brazilian soccer players and their families are begging their government for assistance after being stranded in war-torn Ukraine.
A desperate plea for assistance was sent out via a video where the players and their families could be seen in a tense and panicked state as they begged their government to evacuate them out of the Ukrainian nation.
At the moment, several soccer players from Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv were gathered at a hotel in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv.
Shakhtar’s player named Junior Moraes stated how the situation is one of despair as the intensity of the Russian invasion intensifies with each passing second.
“We as a group are gathered together and waiting for a plan so we can exit Ukraine safely”- he added.
In addition to that, he mentioned how the borders were now closed after Vladamir Putin ordered an immediate invasion into Ukraine.
Orange smoke filled the air on Thursday with loud sounds of air sirens ringing through the city as Russia forced a violent attack against Ukraine from all directions, including the north, south, and east overnight.
So many roads were gridlocked out of Kyiv as so many residents tried their best to flee the city.
Local media outlets have confirmed how bombs are raining from the sky as hundreds of tanks continue to enter from so many fronts. The act has so far left hundreds of troops from Ukraine dead.
Along with the players, their families including young children could be seen in a state of sadness, uncertainty, and fear in the video clip.
Moraes put up his message on his Instagram account as well that stated: “All friends and family members, this situation is very serious and we are stuck in Kyiv and in search of a solution so we can get out. Please pray for us”- it concluded.
