Shocking footage is making viral rounds on social media where a high school runner from Florida is seen getting a sucker punch at a recent track meet.
While sports and violence usually don’t go hand in hand, this horrifying incident has so many people talking for obvious reasons.
The punch is said to have taken place on Saturday at the famous Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational held in Kissimmee.
A recent report published by the Canadian Running Magazine revealed how it had taken place during the 1,600-meter long track race, leaving many stunned.
Another report by TMZ spoke about how witnesses saw another athlete suddenly throw a mighty punch that was not even a part of the race, to begin with.
The suspect was just standing randomly on the field and that’s when the runner who attained first place got a massive blow, while others were told to move out of the way.
But the horror didn’t end there as the next lap had much more drama. Instead of moving from his position, the same athlete chose to stand there and impeded the runner who came in the first position, by pushing him over with a bang.
The sudden and very observable retaliation saw the athlete dressed in black chase the culprit down as he socked him in the head region.
At the moment, it’s still not known if there were any criminal complaints lodged against the alleged puncher or in regards to the violent incident.
But it was revealed how the school managed to make a quick emergency call to authorities in relation to the act. HOwever, sources are yet to confirm whether or not there was any sort of charges being filed.
