A funeral was held for the family of five who passed away earlier this month when their helicopter crashed into the Hudson River.
Agustin Escobar and his partner, Merce Camprubi Montal, and their three young kids happened to be visiting New York City from Spain at the time when the crash occurred.
Shortly after the helicopter that was operated by the sightseeing firm took off, it plummeted into the water, killing the pilot, Sean Carrell Johnson, and all the passengers on board.
The funeral for the loving family of five was held at their hometown in Barcelona. The family had gone with smiles, but who knew that a celebration of a loved one would end their lives in a second.
The family says they have been in pain for the past 11 days and will keep them in their memories forever. They hope to never lose the ability to smile.
There was one very touching moment from the incident, and that was when the loved ones were remembered with the classic tune New York, New York, which is played over the speakers.
The church where the services are held reached a capacity as mourners were seen gathering outside to watch the nearly two-hour-long service on outdoor screens, as per the AP.
